The Art of Rick Roth
BOLD INTERPRETATION:
My interest in this type of art began years ago when I was playing competitive tennis. One day I was surfing the internet and came across a site that featured textured and painted abstract metal wall art. I loved what I saw. For the first time I saw art I would pay for. The way the light reflected from different angles and how the colors changed on their own was fantastic.
I try to make my art move, dance and come alive through the use of various grinding patterns and grits and transparent colors that produce an endless range of effects. I want my pieces to have a holographic effect that cause highlights to show differently each time you view it and from every angle. For me, the result is both exciting and relaxing.
I love what I do. I love that with this art, I always get more out of it than I’ve put in.
